If you're looking to earn some extra cash and have a spare room or a spare couch, would you consider renting it out by the night? is a site where people advertise their spare rooms for people to rent out like a b&b. The idea is similar to where people offer up their couches to travelers, but in the case of airbedandbreakfast there is always a nightly charge (and not just an exchange of say, chores for one night of couchsurfing) that is still well under what one might pay for a hotel. Doing a quick search, we found the places above available in Los Angeles starting at $45/night, though we noticed that most do not offer breakfast. Would you rent out your space or consider renting a room on your next trip?

Some people offer up a spare futon in a shared room (no thanks!) and others offer up their homes. And some of them look pretty nice. If we were traveling with a couple of other people, it's something we'd look into, but it would really depend on a lot of factors, since it is staying with strangers. What do you think?
