Many of us at AT are big-time magazine readers. At the end of the month, there is always the struggle to determine which ones you will keep and which ones hit the recycling bin on the way out the door. But when all is said and done, how many of those saved magazines do you end up revisiting and using again? Tell us after the jump.
This house can be found in Kansas City, Mo., in the Westport neighborhoods. This area is full of colorful people, so there is no reason the houses shouldn't reflect the personalities that live there. Would you be as daring as they were? Let us know after the jump.

For those who have never been to the Central Midwest, it has a feel and way of life all to its own. We drive our own cars (as opposed to mass transportation), we raise our own livestock and we love to do things ourselves. And while Steve and Cathy Worden, from a suburb of Kansas City, don't have any cows or chickens out back, they do have a great working knowledge of what it takes to put a home together with your own two hands. From planning to budgeting and construction, they did it all. Come take a look at what some some old fashioned determination and perseverance can do!
We were recently in a T-Mobile store and while waiting in line to pay, these funny little doorknobs caught our eye. And yes, we are the only people that can go into a store with lots of shiny-snazzy electronics and look at doorknobs. Click through for our thoughts...
At first glance you might think these "Puzzle Chairs" by Nina Saunders to be just absurd. There is a line between getting to know someone and "getting to know someone." But after doing some research on the artist, it all seems to come together. Click through the jump to see more from this artist and weigh in with your thoughts...

The United States of Charles Phoenix is a laugh-out-loud funny celebration of 1950s & 60s tourist traps, theme parks, car culture, space age style, parties and more will take place in the hangar beside a one-of-a-kind relic from the era, a TWA “Super G” Constellation airplane. Click through the jump for more details on this do not miss event...
With the start of The Fall Cure today, this felt like an appropriate quote to share. So dust off those work gloves, it's time to get to work...
Recently we drug home a great "project" couch from an auction. Once in our basement, we noticed that there was gum stuck to the back of one of the cushions. Click through to see how we were able to remove the gum from the cushion with ease... a trick that works on clothes, furniture and shoes!
Steve and Barry's is closing 52 stores in 23 states. As the stores close they are selling of all of their retail fixtures down to the bare walls. Why does that matter? Because let's face it... shelving is expensive and some of their pieces are super fantastic and could be a real steal of a deal. Click through the jump for more info and a state listing!
Things found in the business section are often made well and can be used for things that they weren't intended. For instance, 80 plastic cafeteria trays could be a wall treatment or paneling. How about using a popcorn warmer as a green house for starter plants? So check out the treasures that are after the jump to see if there are any in your part of the midwest!
Apartment Therapy Furniture Classifieds are open for your business in our Shopping Guide.
Most often times we think about carpeting being used almost exclusively on the floor. We might get daring once in awhile and think about making a cat scratcher out of it, but usually... carpet stays under our feet. Well not in this house, click through the jump for a link to see carpet on walls, furniture, stairs, and toys...
We're not sure what the appeal of contact paper is. Maybe it's the inexpensive makeover possibilities, maybe it's just fun to peel and stick it to something (sorry, we're easily amused). Either way, we are head over heels for some fancy self adhesive papers. There is everything from pool table felt to wood grains, metals and don't forget pricing after the jump...
This weekend while picking up some food for our dogs at the local specialty pet store, we came across something unexpected....
