It's rare that a piece of furniture makes us stop in our tracks and say, "Dang!" but the Slim Slant by Modern Slant does just that. And the fact that it is also eco-friendly, made from renewable bamboo, is the icing on the cake.
Slim Slant Coffee Table
The Slim Slant coffee table, from San Francisco-based Modern Slant (previously known as Rhubarb Decor) is a perfect example of beauty, functionality, simplicity and green design. Not only is the Slim Slant a great coffee table but also a well thought out book shelf demonstrated by the tilt of the shelf which uses gravity to reduce the fatigue and wear on the spines of books placed on it.
For as much as we are in love this table, we have to admit we are breaking up with the price. The Slim Slant is available at Vivavi for $1400.
The Slim Slant is part of the "Slant" line which also includes the Full Slant, and Wall Slant and ranges from $350 - $1250.

i have to agree... i think this is a great design but at a steep price. i understand that as consumers we pay for more than material cost, in the name of design, but this seem a bit high.

I don't see that it's all that book friendly. Upright books can be slipped out of place just as easily. And stress on the spines? Minimal.
The slanted shelf means you can't put anything else on it except books or magazines. Nothing breakable, nothing you want to stay upright. That's not well thought-out design.
