House Tour Update: James and Rui's LVL Home

6-25-08romero4.jpg

Remember this light-filled living room? It's from the prefab LVL home of James and Rui, designed by Midwestern architect Rocio Romero and featured on AT last January. The couple recently hosted an open house, inviting visitors into their home for a day while their friend Traci (author of design blog Girl in the Green Dress) took some amazing photos. Traci was kind enough to share her pics with us - click below for a second look at this warm, sunny living space...

I love this sleek clean home - I could see myself living in a place like this tho I don't think I'd have bothered with the basement and would have added a deck at the same level as the floor.

jim and rui added the basement with a projector and sectional to watch movies since there's no tv in the living room upstairs. they plan to add a deck but have done most of the interior finish work themselves and are still finishing up the master bath. the deck is next on the agenda.

Its gorgeous! Absolutely gorgeous! I am a bit biased because red is my favorite color...

While I usually prefer that A.T. sticks with apartments (its not 'House Therapy'), I don't mind that this house has been featured.

I checked out these prefabs before I'd ever found AT. I really like the house style and it's on my "to be checked out further" list for my next home. I love the simplistic style and openness, not to mention the glass expanse. I'm jealous of anyone who already has a house like this.

I absolutely love Rocio Romero and her LVL home. It's what made me fall in love with modern prefab homes.

In fact, I love them so much I created a site to help me stay on top of the last things happening in the modern prefab industry.

www.theprefabs.com has many of the different modern prefab homes, the latest blog posts on them and some pictures. Check out more information on Rocio Romero homes

Absolutely amazing. These pics have been copied and pasted into my "inspiration" file. I someday wish to have my home look like this... : )

bepsf; If you lived in the Midwest, you would like a basement. They are great for surviving tornadoes.

Thanks. I looked it up, too. She was born and raised in San Diego, and went to USC School of Architecture. She moved to Missouri to follow her husband in 1999.

Drool and dream. I love the work of Rocio Romero.
You guys have done a nice job in keeping it simple and decluttered, its the committment required in living in this type of dwelling.

so many huge windows would make me feel like i was living in a fishbowl/museum exhibit . . .it's a very dramatic and stunning effect, but i'm not loving it for a house
