Tell us the tools and resources you used for the project:
I used a hammer and nails for the pictures on the wall. I also used 5 feet of ribbon to hang behind the pictures. My husband and I spent 3 weeks in December refinishing all of the floors in our house. We rented a sander for that job and purchased the varnish and stain.

Share step by step instructions for how you completed the project:

It only took one day to rip out all of the carpet and one weekend to get out all of
the tacks. The floors are really old with a lot of staining from the previous owner's pets. They are also pretty warped so the sanding was extra hard. We spent two days sanding down the floors, two days staining
the floor, and 3 days varnishing. Because of the wait time between each layer it took about three weeks total.

Although I love the pink Chaise it jutted into the space and the color and style never really fit the room. Because I didn't have much money I knew I had to redo the space with things that I already had.
The miniature portraits were inherited years ago and were in a drawer. So they wouldn't look like they were just floating on a wall I purchased 5 feet of ribbon from a craft store and attached it behind the frames. The bench was in another room and was purchased at Target last year for $20. The baskets under the bench were purchased for $1 each at the Dollar store. The antique etchings were pulled from another room and all of the other accessories were things that I had. I purchased the chair last year at Stein Mart for $90 on sale. It was also in another, less needy room.In one of the pictures you can see the edge of the area rug which was purchased last week from Urban Outfitters for $40.
