Look: Fun Filigree Gate

071508-gate2.jpgThe Elmwood Cemetery sits in a blighted area on the outskirts of downtown K.C., in an area that is usually rather un-hip and less than photo-worthy. While my husband and I were taking the long way home (which felt very indulgent with gas prices where they are), the gate surrounding the cemetery stood out against the dilapidated neighborhood around it . Modern homes and aesthetics seem to be all clean line and sleek. And although this fence shares neither of those traits, it should still be seen on strictly inspirational grounds.

The swirls feel as if you have fallen into a fairy tale as your eyes can't help but follow the lines and circles around.

It was nice to see something that was made to last in an area that things come and go with the seasons.

A piece of this, would be a great find at a salvage store and used for a headboard or room divider... or even in your own garden if you happen to have the space.

That's beautiful! But with all the wonderful scrollwork-the mesh squares seem outta place. It'd be nice to see the same horizontal swooping from the top instead of the grid pattern.
