Good Questions: A Green Door on a Pink House?

front door 4.jpgAllison sent in a good question: I thought I needed to replace my door but my next-door neighbor looked at it with me and he told me it was a perfectly fine door. That all it really needs is a good sanding and a new coat of paint. He’s going to help me get it off its hinges, sand it and paint it this weekend but I am wondering what color to paint it. My house is pink; it was that way when I bought it (The photos don’t really do it justice). It took a while but now I like it. I thought it would be kind of cool to paint the door a fun green color. I really like “Citron” or “Japanese Fern” – Is this going to look like something out of the Preppy Handbook?
