Flickr Finds: Homemade Macintosh Paperweight

Our first computer was a Macintosh Classic, which had a similar build to the original Macintosh of '84. It was a hand-me-down from a family friend who realized that our luddite folks would never bring us into the digital age unless he stepped in. Lucky for us he did so right as we were applying for colleges, so all our essays we're typed up, spell checked, and printed out "professionally" on our dot-matrix printer. Class act baby.

These fond Apple memories are why this handcrafted Mac paperweight on Flickr is just so adorable. Yasuhiko Ito, who is also the owner of the karaoke home office we posted about last week, made this paperweight by hand...

The paperweight is made of steel, sandcasted with a mirror finish.

What was your first computer and what memories do you have of it?
