apartment therapy changing the world, one room at a time

I recently took a quick trip up to the Pacific Northwest to visit my boyfriend's uncle...on a goat farm. I realized that this is one area that we haven't covered. There's going home to visit family and then there's this.

I was perusing a lighting website when I came across this bed and now I need to have it. Searches on the web have been unfruitful, does anyone know who makes this bed or where I can find it?

The original French 50's and 60's on Abbot Kinney has reopened after an intensive remodel of the building. Located next to the new newsstand, this incarnation of the mid-century storefront is in addition to their Culver City and Jefferson locations and boasts their most prized pieces:

Has anyone purchased and loved or hated the Flex Sofa from CB2? We're looking for a sofa/bed for a smallish guest room/office combo and hope to spend under $1000. I tend to not trust the comfort level of pullout mattress types of sleepers, and was wondering if this might be a good alternative. No CB2's in the area as of now, so we can't test it out in person. Thanks!

Adrienne talked about escaping through cycling earlier today. There's no better way to get perspective on a car-centric city like LA than to get on a bike (please be careful!). Check out this bike store that brings China's most ubiquitous bike to LA and hosts cool biking activities:

When we get home from a particularly memorable trip we try to make an album of the photos before daily life takes over and we never get to it. We've gone the route of making albums through iPhoto and just found at least one alternative with some more options:
