Yes, the Christmas tree is making the house smell wonderful, but we've noticed that the smell of basil, citrus, and apricot are working their way into the house too. And we aren't complaining. Quite by accident we've got some things at home that are doing double duty and making our place smell oh so nice.
We indulged and bought some wonderful Hero Preserves in Apricot. We make sourdough toast and just slather this stuff, filling the kitchen with the smell of ripe apricot.
Second, we might be a little behind the times, but we just noticed that Target is now selling Boots Products, previously only available in Europe. We wanted to try the Mediterrenaean Body Wash in bergamot, wheatgerm and basil because of our weird fixation with all things basil. We have been pleasantly surprised by the clean warm smell. It isn't overpowering on the body (and it doesn't hurt sensitive skin) and when the shower's over, the bathroom smells amazing.
And finally, one of our favorite gifts ever was when someone brought us back some French dish soap from a trip abroad. Not only is this Maison Verte Soap ecologically friendly but it's thyme/basil scent is intoxicating. If you're willing to pay a little extra and aren't quite up for making a trip all the way to France, you can buy it on basicfrenchonline.
The Body Shop recently started selling a burning oil called "Orange Clove." I cannot believe how lovely it smells. It's very refreshing yet also spicy and cozy. It makes me feel energized and relaxed at the same time.

Boots at Target eh? - who've thought!

Body Shop is infamous for contaminated products and poor manufacturing practices, bordering on fraudulent misrepresentation. It is not a green company, and what with the safety problems with their product, I take the position that friends don't let friends use their stuff.
