Great Solution: Hooks!

073007_hook.jpg
The best solutions are always simple which is why I so appreciate finding this tip from A Browner Brown. Anyone that has lived with someone that doesn't share their design aesthetic (or cleanliness) knows that opinions can clash. And clashing opinions do not make for domestic bliss. In this case: He hates it when clothes are on the bedroom floor, she hates it when he steps on them, and they both want a stylish space. So what do you do?

You go to the hardware store, buy some hooks, spray paint them the color you like and voila! the clothes never need to end up on the ground thus ending the cycle of frustration. And how cute are those hooks. As Elizabeth says, they remind her of little octopi.

Do you have any good co-habitating tips to share?

But unpainted, the screws look like the octopus eyes. (Though, do octopi have eyes?)

I love this idea, but I have a problem. My wife hates hooks. I love em'. And they are surprisingly expensive. Nice ones go for like $10-20 dollars. If you have a lot of things to hang it can get expensive.

I thought what a cute octopus when I saw it. But, forgive my naivete - are those dirty clothes hanging up? I don't want dirty clothes hanging up all over my bedroom. I'd much rather reserve the hooks for cute purses. Why not use a hamper? There are a lot of cute ones these days.

Marcotico-- try the hardware store or target and you should be able to find nice simple hooks for under $3.
