Jules Seltzer: Mid Century Isn't Just For Adults Anymore

8833 Beverly Blvd.

ap new piocs 007.jpgJules Seltzer on Beverly Blvd is one of many in the Robertson/Beverly area that caters to fancy folk looking for what is everywhere.

We must admit we are a little bored with the seeing the same pieces over and over again... unless they are the miniature replicas made to fit a Barbie Dream House!

ap new piocs 009.jpgJules Seltzer has the best selection we've seen. The Noguchi table and Wegner wishbone chair are our favorites, but the choices (from around $100) are hysterical.

ap new piocs 008.jpgWhen the little people came across the fancy world that was the little girl's doll house in The Borrowers , it was like they had hit pay dirt. If we were just wee little people, wed dream of coming across some of these.

If these are the Vitra miniatures, there is a thriving discount business going on over on eBay for these all the time... that's how I fed my tiny addiction to these amazingly-crafted pieces.

Or, if feeling philanthropic while in full-acquisition mode, become a member of the (NY) Museum of Modern Art and get 10% off retail on them there, while supporting the museuem. Holiday sales spike the discount up to 20% sometimes...

And OH MY GOD, I love love LOVE "The Borrowers" reference!! So fascinated with that story as a kid. Okay, still fascinated by that story. And there was an amazing remake made for BBC not terribly long ago...
