Not So Roughing It: Modern Camping Stools

The next two weeks we're inviting several new bloggers to join us here on ATLA. New voices from LA, Austin, Australia, and Asia will all be posting daily during a trial run so we can determine who to invite onto the team. Our first blogger is Sabrina Mar...tell us what you think.

070908ModernCampStools.jpgWhile we have immense respect for those who love roughing it outdoors, being at one with nature and hearing birds sing at the crack of dawn, camping isn't for all of us. Being dirty and sleeping on anything less than our memory foam mattress seems substandard at best. Camping gear, on the other hand, makes our hearts go pitter-patter more than our first kiss in sixth grade...

That's why these Modern Camp Stools (previously noted by our sister site, ATSF, as a modernist camping option) almost make us want to reconsider our previous aversion. We haven't found camping gear this cool since the invention of the spork. With their minimalist fabrics and simple design, these collapsible stools are perfect for weekend camping trips, gardening, or just comfortably enjoying some Champagne and prosciutto at your next tailgate party.

there's something relaxing about going out into the woods and roughing it for a couple of days and then coming home to a clean and cozy home that you love.
It makes me appreciate my double bed that I share with the BF even more.

revolution9 - I agree. I think camping makes you realize how insignificant material things are. Or at least appreciate simpler things - usually I'm glad to be back at home but I miss the quiet conversations and close snuggling we do while camping.

I love Hable Construction's camp stools. Check out their cots as well -- Talk about cool camping.

Ridiculously overpriced.

Prefer this aluminum table/stool:

I love my spork . . . maybe I'll like the Modern Camp Stool just as much . . . I'd like to read more from Sabrina Mar

I love the reminder about the spork too! Makes me think of Kentucky Fried and some coleslaw which I could definitely enjoy while 'camping' and sitting in one of those cool stools.

Love the first kiss reference as well.

Nothing wrong with camping in style. Now only if Hable can help us rethink the cargo pant with zip-off legs ...

LOVE LOVE LOVE these stools (and can totally get behind anything that involves champagne and prosciutto)! This is exactly the kind of thing that makes me love ATLA.

Me and all my friends go camping, and on surf trips a few times a year. We look forward to these trips for months. Its funny how stylish chairs like these can excite the girls, and set a good mood for the whole trip. A little thing like a cool chair would deffinately put a smile on my girlfriends face!

funny. I'd like to hear more from her, too, if you're still taking votes.
