N.O.L. Magazine Rack Bench: Seating and a Library in One

atla040108-nolbench01.jpgWe're all about optimizing space (we're trying to do that very thing with our tiny closet spaced home office right now), so we definitely took notice of this seating solution that doubles up as your own mini-library...

atla040108-nolbench02.jpgThe N.O.L. Magazine Rack Bench is a plywood seating for two with the additional feature of a moderate sized bookshelf to keep your paperbacks and perhaps even a lamp or two in the larger size spaces. And the front seating areas can double up for reading storage also, with a slot to keep your magazine or slim sized tomes in order for reading later.

I love that. I just wish it was at IKEA so I could afford it.

I built a couch with these features years ago. It had a bookcase back, a 30" bunkbed mattress and magazine storage in front. This one is a LOT more dapper. Love it!

CUUUUUTE! But the article says it is made from bent wood. I don't think it is, although it would be even better if it WAS made out of bent plywood.

the top shelves don't look like they would hold anything. it's a nice idea, though.

his makes me believe in humanity again.
such a simple idea, executed so perfectly... but 102,900 yen! (USD$1,010.70 Plus Shipping from Japan), my hope for humanity is once again diminished. :(

i guess this is for people who sit um, lightly on things? If I have something on the back of my couch when I sit on it... it falls down. definitely good for a landing strip... for the not-overweight-like-me!
