The showroom, formerly the offices of Eric Garcetti, is tastefully appointed with an eclectic and stylish mix of original artwork, ethnic decorative arts, in-house custom pieces, and modern design notables from the likes of Jonathan Adler and John Robshaw. The Living Room's showroom almost feels like a miniature east-of-the-101 H.D. Buttercup, each corner showcased in different decor styles.

And starting on February 8th-11th, Living Room is having a special 2 year anniversary sale, with everything 20% off all special orders, custom orders and in-stock goods/floor items, including furniture, lighting and accessories. They even promised to have some adult beverages and tasty snacks to nosh on while you shop.

The store occupies the former office of Council President Eric Garcetti. He moved out and Living Room moved in, which is fine, I guess, but when LR moved in they painted over an awesome mural that covered the building. For that reason i can never shop there.

When we acquired this building in December of 2005, we thought we might be able to keep the mural. Unfortunately, after being open a few months we realized that not only did the mural clash with the style of the store, but people also could not find us. So we reluctantly decided to cover the mural. We did, however, work with the artist Ricardo Mendoza, art conservationist Nathan Zakheim, and representatives from both Jackie Goldberg's and Eric Garcetti's offices, to perserve the mural underneath the paint. Thanks, Living Room.

I didn't know about the mural paint over - ouch - I'd love to see a picture of what it looked like. I work with the best LA muralist around IMO and have worked on many in the past 5 years so I feel you HP. Before knowing that, I really like this store (though its def out of my price range).

This store is tops for two very simple reasons.
The merchandise/selection is top notch, I dare anyone to enter and honestly not find something they like (actually I "double dog" dare you).
Secondly, you will not find a more delightful and helpful staff.
And when I say delightful...I mean "Delightful" (note the capital "D").
I never miss a chance to visit when I am in the area...

The Living Room is a great addition to the east side. They have an incredible mix of home furnishings, accessories and art from contemporary high style to traditional. They also have great furniture and art from local LA artist. You won't find this mix anywhere else. They obviously know the marketplace, do their research and have great taste! My wife and I used to go to the west side to shop for our home and now would never even think about it. The living room is the best LA are store for all your home furnishings!
