Lynn Kingelin's Fire Jacks

Hot Stuff. Last week we posted KleinReid's Porcelain Campfire and many readers expressed disappointment that the design was purely decorative and wasn't suited for use within a gas fireplace. This morning, we stumbled across designer Lynn Kingelin's Fire Jacks. An alternative to faux coal, pebbles and logs, Fire Jacks embrace a playful shape that would be appropriate for a multitude of styles...

According to Lynn's site, Fire Jacks are exclusively licensed and distributed by Verine, and will be available in UK and European fireplace shops starting August 2007. Perhaps U.S. distribution will follow? Via MoCoLoco.

Wow. They kind of look like bones in a fire, I had to do a double-take!

Maybe in real life it looks more playful and less crematorium, I like the idea. Maybe some little devil shapes would be fun. What actually looks good on fire? Probably the more abstract the better.
