The top piece can be closed to give a more streamlined look when not in use if your kitchen is in view of your living space. And it opens up to reveal built-in attributes like hidden counterspace, lots of drawers, wine storage, an extra pull-out cutting board, a utensil rod, plus dishtowel racks on the side for easy access.
Two additional models with scary chickens and cows stenciled on them (not shown here) take the country theme too far. From €570.

Nice. Here in the U.S. we just assume everyone has huge kitchens so there aren't a lot of off-the-shelf units like this. Not my particular style but it does have a sort of Nowegian lodge look about it.
Now if they made it in lacquered stainless steel....

Also reminds me a little of the Japanese mizuya, another multipurpose storage option with shelves for plates and drawers for various ingredients. They have a lot of character, but not a style for everyone.

This would get on my nerves once I ran out of room for one group of items and had to compromise by putting additional pieces in another space in the unit or elsewhere in the room. I would avoid this thing like the plague and resist its cuteness.

This is great. Where can you buy it in the US?

I love this, but I wouldn't put it in my kitchen. I'd keep it in my sewing room to store fabric and notions.
