Until Sunday, January 6, the 4th annual La Métamorphose des Matériaux (formerly known as the Salon de la Récup) at the Espace Blancs Manteaux in the Marais features 60 emerging designers and artists who transform largely recycled materials into art, sculpture, furniture, objects, lighting, and decorative items (like the bottle skeleton sculptures from Régis Mayot pictured above). Part contemporary art exhibition and part design show, this is where Paris discovered the poetic light sculptures of Valérie Boy, with the artists on hand to discuss their work. This year, there are beautiful abstract tableaux from Dominique Piveteaud that use zinc rooftop remmants in various states of rust (above).
