Its irreverent products are inspired by its home country's cultural clichés and monuments, from opa-shouting Greek dancing to broken plates to the beach to Zeus' lightning bolt and Hermes and Aphrodite. This cedar-scented break-up candle offers "instant redemption," they instruct. "Fill in with the appropriate x-lover's name and burn the blues away." Leaving in Athens, I'd never buy one of their products exactly like I'd never shop at the Plaka tourist gift shops: they are plain *kitsch*!
They get their point damn right, their objects are true art forms and studies in semeiotics, but their decorative value is as suicidal as that of the originals they mock. Granted, you don't always want art you admire installed in your living-room ;)
