Over at Argington in Brooklyn, Jenny Argie is hard at work churning out new modern children's designs, this time with Andrew Thornton. Argington's expanded collection is based on the seven wonders of the world, but the newest additions (above) are pure Bauhaus. The Sahara Crib and Delphi changing table are separate units that slip together as one, making for a seamless transition from diaper to bed.

At around $675, this gorgeous crib is a good $150 less than the cheapest modern crib (Oeuf) available until now. Although still fairly pricey, I predict it will be hugely popular. I just wish it had been around a year ago!
The cheapest modern option available until now is the Ikea Gulliver crib at $89.99. It's a clean, understated design that works with everything. Add a good mattress and beautiful bedding and nobody will guess it's from Ikea. I've had mine through 2 babies and it's in perfect condition. I've been known to spend way too much money on furniture, but I can't fathom dropping over $600 for a crib that is made in China and doesn't even turn into a toddler bed (life span: a little over two years). Plus, I find the base very bulky and I hate the stain job.
Good point Stef, I'd forgotten about the Ikea Gulliver. I was really thinking more of the Ouef, Netto and Nurseryworks cribs.
