NY Good Questions: Similar Bedding Color Combination?

4.29bed.jpgDear AT,

So I bought my dream apartment, in Greensboro, NC, about a year and a half ago, and really didn’t do anything with it for the first year.

I’ve recently bought your book, gotten obsessed with the blog, and am planning to enter Small Cool 2009!

When I moved in, my bedroom was already painted a deep chocolate brown color, which I love—it’s one of those colors that I would never pick, but find very soothing...

When I first moved in, my sister suggested this beautiful pink and brown bed set from Restoration Hardware.

Unfortunately, I waited to order it—I have two cats that I am trying to re home because of severe allergies, and they love to nap on my bed, so white just doesn’t work while I have them.

Well, now that color combination has been discontinued, and I have my heart set on it, or a similar design, in pink and brown.

I have searched everywhere for something similar, and am coming up empty—I would love any suggestions from your readers! Thanks! Lara

can't really help with the bedding set search but....

I LOVE that print above your bed, where is it from?

Thanks! It's not a print, it's actually a photograph done by a good friend of mine of my beloved horse. . . I had it printed locally on canvas; if you really love it, I'm sure he would be willing to do a second print of it. Not bragging, since I didn't (and couldn't :-)) take the picture, but the photograph doesn't begin to do it justice--I was stunned when I saw it, it's sort of dreamlike looking.

The last time I was at the RH outlet store in MA I could have sworn they that bedding in that same color combo...it might be worth a call to see if you can track it down.

Restoration Hardware Furniture Outlet

Wrentham MA 02093

Not sure how many other outlet stores there are but again it might be worth checking...

You could always purchase White and Pink Bedding as well as some brown ribbon and create your own...

Looks like your bed is a queen rather than a king, but you might just keep an eye on ebay:

I bet other sizes will pop up!

If you know exactly what you want, and know your way around a sewing machine, then I would suggest to make your own bedding. You can pick the exact colors you need ; )
Good luck!

Bed Bath and Beyond was carrying a "knock off" version of this set. I can't find it on their website, but you may want to check the store.

Target's DwellStudio collection has a similar-ish set. It's not brown and pink, but rather brown and white.

Don't know if that helps; good luck!

I made my daughter a knock off of the Kate Spade set several years ago. 2 white flat sheets, 1 pink flat sheet, lots of preshrunk grosgrain ribbon -- you may be able to get a friend to stitch this up in are not up to it. Good Luck!
