Keep a drink of water nearby at night with this quaint little bedside decanter from Basic French. It's made of handblown Moroccan glass and comes with a nice little glass that fits snuggly on top.
We like its soft, slightly worn, handmade appearance. It gives the impression that it's been used at bedside tables throughout generations.

That may be a "slightly worn, handmade appearance" to you, but to me it just looks dirty. It's a bit too rustic for my taste.

I agree. Worn and old looking is one thing. When it looks like there is sand embedded in the glass and the glass is brownish when it should be clear is just dirty. That thing would scare me to drink water out of it.
you people are nuts. it doesn't look dirty - its just not clear glass and has imperfections. do you drink out of brown glass bottles for beer? thought so.
I like its look as well, but if I'm going to drink from it on a regular basis, I'd want to make sure it was dishwasher safe.
Do people really wake up in the middle of the night for a drink of water? At the very least, it would take a mocha-chocolate milkshake to arouse me from my nightly coma...
I have one of these bedside carafe things (not this one--mine's from Crate & Barrel) and I like it because if I keep a regular glass of water by my bed, my cat drinks it, which is cute but kind of unappetizing.
Bedside carafes are pretty but heinous ... do you have any idea how how germs, etc, thrive in such a humid, semi-sealed environment? A small bottle of spring/mineral water (unopened until you actually need to drink it) is a better and more appetizing bet ... just put it in a pretty metal sleeve or other outerwear.
I think the carafe is lovely but I'm a menace to anything on my bedside table at night. Readingglasses suggestion might work for me, although it's likely that the bottle would find itself under the bed or rolling into a corner of the room.
Remember, if the cat is drinking your water, he was also licking his butt and if you are pregnant and get toxoplasmosis it will kill the baby.
