Quietly hewing to their own philosophy, Atlas Industries was started by Joseph Fratesi and Thomas Wright in Brooklyn and now has an eastern and a western studio. That's good for us, as their design sensibility continues to break any provincial mold and surprise with a combination of warm, rich woods and dark, strong steel elements. And their AB3 bed is a fine example.

Dressing them up in Amenity bedding doesn't hurt the look/appeal either

Hmmm. I LOVE Atlas stuff in general, and the detail shots are gorgeous, but something about the very first pic said "picnic table" to me.
P(too) -- did the pic say 'picnic table' to you in a good or bad way?
;-)
Depends on whether the Park Ranger uniform fits you or not. ;)
The craftmanship looks amazing, but I think the headboard is too high. Then again, I'm not a sleigh bed fan. Save 'em for the slopes.
I like the higher headboard, because I like the look of two Euro square pillows propped up against the back. With a higher headboard, you still end up seeing the headboard above the pillows. But all personal taste!
hopefully their customer service has gotten better. my boss ordered a very expensive bookshelf system and I had to constantly hound them about the order/issues with delivery ect. it's really great installed but the folks need some help in running the business.
my boss had me contact them months after to actually purchase another system [he didn't have to deal with the issues] and they never replied to my email. and I was ready to lay down a few grand.
I talked him out of further purchases so far.

beds are ok, but i really like the wall treatment/art in the first photo. that would probably make a great diy project.
the wall shapes look like they are from fold bedding....wallter.com
I had a great experience with Atlas. I am happily typing from my as4 system (shelves with desk) and I recently bought the ab3. All of their products are made with incredible elegance. I can't wait to see what they come up with next!
