are there other places with reviews on these headboards? they look cute but they only had one review on the kmart site. i sorta wonder if they are very durable. i'd be more inclined to go out and make my own headboard for less money.

The first one sorta looks like an air mattress somebody stuck to a wall, but the second one has potential. It actually looks kinda chic and comfy.

It looks like you can see the seams on the edges of the material...like with an air mattress. I bet the wrinkles and other poor constuction features of these would instantly give them away as inflated even from a distance. Plus, how long will the tape last if you have to keep pulling it off the wall to inflate it?

this will look really sad in a landfill...they seem so disposable...

There's just something not right with sticking an air mattress to the wall & calling it a headboard. I'm with LittleRock I think I could make my own for less $$$.

the second one looks like it could have potential but how is some adhesive tape going to keep it stuck to the wall for a long period of time? doesn't seem worth the $100 - $150 bucks they are asking.

Hmm. This makes me wonder if a really funky pool float could be attached to the wall as a "headboard," for a surfer-chic look.

This could theoretically be a good concept... but $80 for what is essentially a microsuede-covered pool toy?? When did Kmart even get that expensive?

Oh, stop the hating. I'll bet if nobody told you these were inflatable headboards, you would have never suspected anything out of the ordinary. I only wish this came in a broader palette of colors and/or patterns- the brown is a bit too serious for something that is so tongue-in-cheek. And if it really turns out to be as chintzy as everyone believes, then it can always double as a pool lounger.

It has nothing to do with the fact that it's from Kmart - if it were from Ligne Roset and selling for $3000, it would still be trashy future landfill.

There is no way this looks good in real life.

Mentioning something comes from the "K" place isn't going to invite nearly as much disdain as saying it comes from the "W" place, but it's almost certain that it'll be hated and put down without any actual experience with the product. It'd be an interesting test for AT to mention and describe the product but say nothing about where its from and then see if the responses are more positive on Wal-Mart and K-mart items.

I think this is a pretty interesting idea. My bed is up against a glass door and it can't be permanently blocked and we have to be careful with what types of hard objects come into contact with it. I could actually use something like this to buffer between the bed and the glass.

I just found a great little video to give a better idea about quality and ease of use.

I actually own one of these and I love it! It inflates really fast with this electric pump that comes with it. [The pump has all these other attachments on it so I probably can inflate other things with it too.] They put the opening for the pump on the front of the headboard, so you can actually inflate it without removing it from the wall....i haven't had to add more air yet and it's over a month since I filled it. The tabs are velcro, so one side sticks to the wall and the other sticks to the headboard. You do have to be careful if you want to move it so you don't take the paint of the wall. The headboard actually looks great, not junky. The fabric is really nice...i bought the microsuede. And it is really comfortable when i lean against it. I am a happy customer....I bought mine at Target.com. by the way.

I too, have recently purchased a BackDrop headboard. I finally found a headboard that looks great for the price I could spend. (I am transitioning from college furniture to "real" furniture.) I have been searching for one for several months now, but all the nice headboards (ie Pottery Barn, Crate & Barrel) are way too expensive! I am totally happy with this item. For under $100 it makes my bedroom finally look like a real room. BTW, I bought it from Bed, Bath & Beyond. I think that's the best place to buy it because you can use the 20% coupon, making it a really great price (regular price is $99.99 for a full/queen, so that saved me about $20!)
