It wasn't long ago now that DWR stepped into the ring with their own mattress lineup, getting ever closer to one-stop shopping at their hip, urban stores. Interestingly, they chose to skip the conventional route and headed straight for memory foam. Very modern.
Based on the Tempur-Pedic model, Sonno Mattresses are topped with a layer of visco-elastic memory foam and are pure polyurethane foam in the middle. Around the outside is a soft layer of CoolMax fabric which "wicks away moisture to keep the body cool."

well, for $15 i got myself a coolmax mattress pad ?

i know, not the same, but still a little piece of heaven...
my wife and i got a queen prima from DWR about a year ago.. we love it. picked it over a tempur-pedic on price alone, as we also had to replace the frame (one of those H-style frames) with something with slats on the bottom to fully support the mattress w/o a boxspring.
I bought a Full Size mattress about 1 year ago before they introduced the cool max. I decided to go with the Sonno because these were firmer than the Tempur-pedic mattress also I didn't need a box spring. It work well with a platform bed that I purchased from Crate and Barrel with slats underneath.
Is the cool-max cover removable and washable? I have cool-max shirts that I exercise in, and some get pretty stinky after a while. Some of these synthetics have a problem of retaining smells, even after washing.
Great bed. We got the medium queen sonno after trying out a whole range of mattresses, including some tempur-pedic, and we're happy with the choice. It's uber-comfortable (no over-heating, weird smells, or "gumby-effect"), we like the low & slim silhouette that works well with our Ohio Design slat bed, and the price was right. BTW, DWR has been having a sale on this mattress for ages. I think it's kind of a perpetual sale.
I have the Sonno Versa Queen mattress along with the Luxus bed from dwr. The soft side is very comfortable. If you get this though I'd recommend a bed such as the luxus where the mattress is somewhat enclosed. Because it's two pieces it has a tendency to have a gap in the middle if there isn't something pressing them together from the sides.
We have a King Prima Firm with the DWR Leggero bed. It's very firm, and I love it. The only problem we had with the Sonno was really with the delivery guys who installed the bed and mattress. They pushed the little plastic breathing clips to the center of the Leggero platform frame, causing the mattress to peak in the middle. A call to DWR straightened it out, but apparently this is a common problem.
my husband and i purchased this mattress and have had it for about a year. i find it to be a really boring night's rest...BUT, I have no backpain in the morning. some really nice sheets and a great fluffy pillow have helped to make it a bit more pleasant.
We bought the Prima Firm right after it came out and WE LOVE IT.
A boring night's rest? I'm puzzled as to what would be a better alternative.
Interesting. I'm in the market for a new mattress and based on the comments here, I may very well go with the Sonna Prima.
Two questions:
-Can anyone here elaborate, from personal experience, on the difference between the Sonna and a Tempur-Pedic?
-Those of you that purchased the Versa, is the 'gap' between the sides something one can feel if one is to, say, roll across from one side to the other?
I realize that a few posters here hinted at the aforementioned notes, so pardon the slight redundancy in my querry.
Thanks in advance.
Cheers,

I just purchased a Sonno mattress from DWR & the packing materials recommend not using a mattress pad.
Anyone know why? and are folks using mattress pads anyway?
I fell in love with this mattress today and am thinking of getting it.
Two questions: What is it like to sit on the edge of this mattress? Does it squish so you can't really do it, or does it hold up? Also, are there any concerns about the polyurethane foam core degrading, or do we think this will last a very long time?
Thanks to all for the great info.
