Wouldn't these get flooded if you fill the sink?

This would be a pain to clean. Like someone said a few days ago, there is a reason that sinks don't have tight corners and crevices.

This is an example of form fucking with function.

Brushes and sponges need to air out to decrease bacterial growth. Keeping your brushes cooped up in this compartment would lead to smelly brushes.

It also looks difficult to clean.

Yeah, not sure on the functionality.

I'm a big fan of having a wire basket with suction cups stuck to the sink. My sink is deep enough that you can't see it unless you're actually standing at the sink. Lets sponges dry out quickly and can easily be removed and replaced when it's time for a good scrub.
