NY Gift Fair: Felt Stones by Be Sweet

Soft Stones. Felt products were all over the Gift Fair (and we still have a lot more to share). Some of the most intriguing were these felt stones in the Be Sweet booth. Large-scale cushions, a pillow covered in smaller felt rocks and even a hefty rug or mat of sorts. While we didn't get any information (and they're not on the website yet) we'll be on the lookout for these — they were really cool! They reminded us of the Livingstones we saw on the blogs last year...

I love this concept. Kinda reminds me a little of this rug from Chiasso: http://www.chiasso.com/store/item.aspx?DepartmentId=46&ItemId=53283

I can't wait for these to hit the market. I did some investigating on the Livingstones months ago, but their prices are insane. I'm no rich man.....so I clicked off the site and watched tv.

I saw and touched the soft stones at the SIDIM (Montreal) this year. I spoke to the artist, a South African woman that is really nice (unfortunately I lost her business card). Livingstones had a booth just closed by. When you see them side by side they are quite different.

Livingstones is mademade and each rock is sewed many times. They form a hard structure that is why you can use them as table. The fabric is quite rough.

The soft stones have absolutely no seam. The fabric is soft wool felt. The product is downy; it reminded me of holding a teddy bear.
