Best Products: Teema Mugs

We like a clean, simple line, along with a smooth edge and a wide enough mouth so that you can appreciate how dark your coffee really is. The Teema mugs from Finnish design giant Iittala have been favorites for years and are part of the larger Teema collection. Designed by Kaj Franck in 1962, the whole collection is based on "familiar and basic shapes - a circle, a square and a rectange."

Franck started with these shapes and then reduced all that was "excessive" until only the "essential" remained. They can be found for $14 at FinnStyle and soon in the AT Store as well.

I ordered an Iittala Teema 13-1/2 Ounce Mug from Amazon in the middle of August and I'm still waiting for it. They keep pushing back the delivery date and asking me if I still want it if I don't get it till then. Someone posted here that Iittala has great dishes, so I investigated and found this mug, which might be big enough for my fussy morning drink size preferences. Maybe one day, I'll know!
