The chair costs over $2000. Anyone want to knock it off and sell to me for $200? LOL

Jean--
You can DIY, simply, for even less. Just:
Find a vintage chair frame like this highly desireable one.
Gut it.
Remove hundreds of upholstery tacks.
Strip the ornate frame by hand.
Sand the ornate frame without obliterating desired detail.
Enamel it white (two to three coats, preferably with a sprayer, purchased or rented).
Find cowhide (white = $$$).
Create zebra stencil.
Buy hide-friendly dye so it doesn't come off on your white 501s.
Stencil cowhide.
Reupholster in stencilled cowhide.
Replace hundreds of upholstery tacks.
Enjoy!
(There's a reason furniture is expensive.)

Great. a bunch of design theifs. Designers work hard to bring there vision to the market. Oly Studio is such a company. For the great folks here to call for a knock-off, well enough said. It is stealing.

Ray, I hardly find anything original in this piece. It's a Louis XVI cabriolet upholstered in zebra cowhide. I have many workshops around where I live who are already producing this kind of pieces.

Ray--
I was going to jump on my anti-knock off soap box too, but Ray is right... this is a reupholster of a Louis frame, and there' s quite a bit of precedent for zebra being tha material of choice.
If anyone's guilty of less than original thinking, it's actually Oly, but they are just taking the work out of a look that emmanuel notes is already out there.
And, in fact, some companies are making their mark with this sort of vintage update... Chair Couture, for one:

The design itself isn't original but the pairing of the Louis frame and zebra is very fresh! I live near Berkeley which is where their warehouse sales were held and i have bought some very beautiful pieces from Oly for my real estate staging business. This company seems to be on the vanguard of reviving lost trends which many follow after. I bought their capiz shell lamp (vernon panton) when it first came 4 yrs ago, about 1.5 yrs later and several magazine features, the Panton capiz shell lighting was in full swing again after Oly had brought it back. They even had a Jean Prouve inspired table 5 yrs ago in their line...Prouve was only rediscovered a couple years ago! I do think their stuff to really expensive though!
