I'm not sure if ironic is the correct word for this posting since you and your family have now moved on to a new somewhat larger apartment. It makes me a little sad to see what a lovely home you created there and of necessity have needed to leave behind. The joy of the new home at this season is likely tempered by nostalgia for this little gem.
