It feels like H&H is changing before our eyes.....or is it ALWAYS changing? This week it is definitely more youthful and offbeat, and it seems to be borrowing ideas from the blogs, who borrowed them from other media, who got them from simply responding to readers... It has bright spots but seems sort of depressing (Readers VOTE below).

Our top pick this week is a bright spot, On the Seine, Haut Baroque, which profiles French designer, Herve Van der Straeten. A single-minded Gallic creative with a style that seems old and new at the same time, he is worth bookmarking. Pics, pics, pics are here!

Much to love in Van der Straeten's apartment, but the giant, red skull creeps me out...
this issue was an enjoyable read. of course van der straeten is another inspiring french mix master.
Thank god for the Times. Without their kicky spotlight I wouldn't have known where to purchase an $1800 bucket and a $10,000 plastic blob to put my daisies in.
I thought the issue was a bit "eh."
rr, that just made me laugh out loud (well it was more of a snort)...that planter spread was just silly, and I love planters.
I thought Van der Straeten's things were beautiful in exactly the slightly eerie/organic way I like. Not exactly affordable either...but at least it's obvious why they cost what they do.
