Rita is a long-time artist in Copenhagen who loves to cook. The Danish influences of her space are subtle but recognizable--the light colored wood, the cool lamps, the candles...

Rita has lived in her cozy home for almost two decades and it shows most in the kitchen and her bookshelves - her two biggest 'collections.' Artist cooperative housing developments in Copenhagen like this one, make it possible for so many artists there to live well on very little.
Rita clearly prioritizes entertaining in her home - the living room is the most inviting and a visitor sees when he or she walks in the door. This room is warmly lit by candles, large and small on any given evening, after the sun has set. The kitchen is incredibly stocked. In fact, on a week that Rita was out of town, we were able to make a delicious meal from food scavenged from her refrigerator alone!

I like the stash in the little manbowl on the table. I think a good post would be on creative ways to hide your stash... I mean, where do minimalists put their weed? Or is it just coke & it kind of blends in with the surroundings?

Oranges, candles, weed...ho, hum, just another evening at an artists house in Copenhagen.

I didn't even notice the weed. Here's a lived-in place for those who complain about the minimalist, MCM digs.

i didn't know candles were scandinavian. also, how do you sit in a chair that has an animal skin draped over it? doesn't it slip around?

Wow, a real place that looks like someone actually lives in it. I'd love to see more of these sorts of places on AT rather than the sanitized, staged, everything-I-use-is-hidden places that are usually showcased.
This was a treat. There is so much warmth and personality in this place. I love the furry-looking throw over the chair. It reminds me of Vikings for some reason. I also love the elephants and the stereo system which isn't afraid to announce its presence in the room.

Candles are non exclusively Scandinavian, *but* Scandinavians definitely use and own lots of candles. It's a great way to keep things cozy and warm during the long winter nights.

I meant "not exclusively.

And I'm sorry. I grew up in Denmark and that is for sure one of the messiest, most cluttered Danish homes I've ever seen.
I don't think it would've gotten featured on this site, if it hadn't been Danish.
There's some nice elements, but...

Why was this home featured? It's disheartening, sometimes, how frequently a home is featured simply because of WHO the dweller is or where they live, or because they have some cool "things". This is the messiest, most cluttered place I've seen on here yet, and it's disappointing - it goes against everything I thought AT was about.
