Look! Customized FLOR Carpet Tiles by Todd Oldham

Yesterday, Gregory from ATLA posted the customized hexagonal FLOR rugs featured in the latest issue of Dwell Magazine. The photographs jump-started our memory and we remembered seeing photos of FLOR carpet tiles that Todd Oldham had cut into elaborate scallops (above) and we wanted to share...

We grabbed the image from Todd's photography website and it originally appeared in his book, Handmade Modern. Todd LOVES FLOR. He used it in his gorgeous country house:

Notice how the FLOR tiles are arranged at an angle — enlivening the room with even more energy and movement!

That whole set looks like it was hand made out of plywood and readymade legs fromt he hardware store. But the style of it is from Paul Mccobb's Planner group made during the early 50s.

I had hoped this would be about Todd Oldham coming out with a new LINE of Flor tiles, so that anyone could just order them like that. It looks like he cut them himself, though, just for this.
