The Radziner-Cottle home in Venice California was recently featured in The New York Times Magazine and we found it very inspirational. Though the house is large, the abundance of large windows and similar finishes unite the space and achieve a cohesive, warm presence. Walnut is used for the cabinets and ceiling of the sunken kitchen (above) and also as the built-in storage in the children's rooms...

Wow. Unbelievable.

Absolutely love your home. Can you tell me the brand name of the paint and the color used in your living room area (the yellow).

That is one nice modern kitchen design. Natural light is just so important and those big panels will flood that kitchen with warmth and make it a really nice place to be.
I'm not as keen on the living room but I suppose that comes down to personal taste. Everyone would want that kitchen, I can't imagine everyone would feel the same about the living room. Where's the TV? (Joke)

Oh boy! I'm going to be a copy cat! I have the perfect home in the desert (Palm Desert, CA) for this fireplace set up. Right now we have a mantel just glued on to the wall (builder series- ugh!). It has an ugly tile wrapped around a black hole - so this is so inspiring to me. I can't wait to tear the tile down. I plan on painting the remaining walls in a light gray.
Thanks for the inspiration! I'll have to do a before and after.

Going against the prevailing winds here, but i'm not really digging the design. The architectural space is great (walls of glass, sense of space and light are excellent), but the interior design is a bit too austere and melancholic. Just as a viewer it leaves me a bit cold. I really thought this type of stark modernism had been declared passé.

I can't tell you how happy I am that butcher block is back "in". I am so freaking sick of looking at granite.

A modern house with two wings and a pool in the middle represents my ultimate dream. The sunken kitchen is amazing.
