We love creative headboards and we've been sleeping under this one for years without really noticing just how creative it is...
Look! Cork Headboard

We were taking pictures around the family house last weekend in New Hampshire when we noticed the creative use of cork panels over the bed in the guest room - and the lovely needlepoint bird in its center.
A cork headboard is great because it allows you to pin up whatever you're in the mood and change the personality of the room, or leave it blank for a warm, solid field of texture over the bed. Or simply center a small piece of art, like this, and let the cork act as a large framing mat. Beautiful!

I'm moving into a new apartment in July and have been wondering what to do for a headboard. This is it! Thank you for the idea! I'm not sure where to scout out cork (sans frame) but I'm officially on the lookout. You guys are the best!

Adorninc, Michael's has frameless cork squares. I saw some pretty walnut-colored ones that I'm thinking about right now! I've also seen cork at office supply stores.

Ok, I love Apartment Therapy, and I love that room, but it is absurd to me that authors are forced to say "we" when they mean "I".
I know it's done for a reason, to sound more professional or cohesive or something. Whatever the reason, it doesn't matter, it's still unnecessary.
Does anyone else think this?
Back to the post, in my bedroom I have an entire wall of cork board... and not by choice. So maybe once I'm in my new apartment this fall and the sight of cork doesn't make me feel like barfing, I think I might love this idea.

seeemilyplay - i do agree with you too... i wish they would explain why EVERYTHING is a collective "we." They don't all think a like so why do they pretend to, by saying "we."
