Look! Who Lives in the Big House on 37th Street?

Okay, this is about as short of a post as we've ever written, but walking up 37th street from the Javit's center yesterday we passed this big, modern - seemingly - private residence standing all by itself with sun on all sides. Inquiring minds want to know.... who the hell lives in this modern mansion?

If the name was on the buzzer - it wouldn't be private anymore, now would it?

Sorry, not a residence. It's a gallery called Affirmation Arts. It also houses artists' studios and the gallery offices, which is what the private entrance buzzer is probably for.

It's well worth a visit; the interior is beautiful and I've seen a couple of interesting exhibitions there.

Actually... I toured this house with the contractor. A business man from Texas lives on the top floor or two when he is in town and the rest is the art gallery and offices he created. The finshes in the living space are beautiful. It's quite an interesint place to find in the City!
