Door Handles, Pulls & Hardware by Frank Gehry

Starchitect Frank Gehry tends to be a little overexposed. But we're rather fond of his new designs for door knockers and door pulls that were added to his two collections made by Italian manufacturer Valli & Valli...

The new additions to the Arrowhead series include a twisting door pull:

The new additions to the Fog series includes a modern door knocker:

Over-designed and a bit silly. Much like Mr. Gehry's architecture.

TOTALLY UNIMPRESSED. Makes Michael Graves' "common" work look fabulous.

I prefer the ergonomic handle designed by Antoni Gaudí for the Casa Batllo in Barcelona. So much more thought went into it.

Not necessarily earth shattering. However, Frank Gehry has incredible talent and vision.

I like the way they look and they probably feel nice. I get the Gaudí one, but I don't think it's for everyone. Gehry's examples seem really simple and yet touchable. They may be a little hack, kind of ordinary for his stuff, but I get over it and think, that's a door handle I want to reach for, it's going to feel good. That's all I want. They're probably too expensive for that minor luxury.
