Advance Tabco: Stainless Steel Kitchenware

2004_12_8_advance1.jpgImmaculate stainless. With our love of stainless kitchenware it is not surprising that someone sent us this link to Advance Tabco. (please tell us who?), which is a totally comprehensive source for commercial grade, restaurant supply stainless kitchenware.

Whether you are looking for a standard table with a shelf and four legs (of ANY size) or a whole sink and washing station getup for your SoHo loft, this is the place to check it all out. Sure, you can get all of this made on the Bowery (and you might), but Advance makes it extremely easy for you to shop with an excellent website and clear pricing so that you can see what you are getting. Once you know what you want, you can shop for more prices.

2004_12_8_advance2.jpgThe catch is that prices are not low. This is not Ikea. This is NSF approved, heavy duty, top quality commercial grade. A wall mount 60" pot rack costs $270, a 6' table $840 and one compartment stainless sink is $550. All items can be viewed online and then purchased through a number of distributors around the city. (Thanks, whoever you are!) MGR

At least here in Seattle, restaurant supply stores tend to have a lot of used Tabco stuff, for a relatively great price. Often they look a bit used, but that can sort of add to the charm. For instance, the lower shelf on our big chunky table still has labels stuck to it indicating where to put the "chowder mix" and "dressings".

I order quite often from acitydiscount.com. They sell their products on eBay, but I got a gorgeous Aero stainless steel prep table for my kitchen for $200 with shipping! They also sell the advanced tabco brand, but I don't have the funds to buy the high-end version, so I settled for the Aero. It's still NSF approved quite sturdy (and brand new). Since then I've bought a few other storage and prep pieces for my kitchen from acitydiscount.

I have been using Advance Tabco as well but found the prices to be a lot lower than you mentioned in the previous article. I got a new, 6 foot Advance Tabco table for $355 from http://www.katom.com. On their homepage there is a link to all of the Advance Tabco stuff by clicking on the company name to the right.
