With summer not far ahead, sisal rides into town. Sisal has big time detractors and supporters, and basically the arguments go like this: Pro - its cheaper (than carpet), it feels great under foot, its summery, and it looks sharp. Con - it's not cheap (just cheaper), it doesn't clean or wear well, so it's life is shorter, and it's cold (read - not good year round). The verdict: it is awesome in a summer house and great in a low traffic area around the home or office, where warmth is not an issue. Buying it is getting easier and prices are better if you look online. Here are a few good places we know of, and which will send swatches before you buy.

I think you should look at Coastal-style.com as well
Eva's right. I just got some samples from www.sisalrug.com and www.coastal-style.com, and there was a huge difference. The binding sample that sisalrug sent me looked like cheap suit fabric. The bindings from coastal-style were beeft, and looked like they would stand up to traffic. Also, the rug samples were much nicer from Coastal Style. Make sure you get samples, and look at what you are buying before you make a decision!
