If you are looking for tubs, put Vintage Tub on your list. Started six years ago, it is a family run business in Pennsylvania that wants to corner the market on antique and reproduction bathroom fixtures, faucets, and accessories. Prices run between $900 - $1200 for most tubs, but they do have designer beauts for $3500. Shipping is 5 days. (Thanks, Amy!)
Amy says: Very helpful, good selection. Vintage Tub talked my plumber through his questions. They have new tubs. If you want vintage, talk to the people at Olde Goode Things.

I lived in a great apartment building in Chicago that had clawfoot tubs in every apartment. It became an indispensable part of my life and absolutely part of my idea of the ideal bathroom. I adore the separation from the walls and floor of the bathroom, as if you are in a bed for your bathroom. Put by a window, I could stay there all day. Soft lines and deep water, I miss my old tub so much.
Speaking of tubs, what are everyone's thoughts on acrylic vs. cast iron? I'm redoing a bathroom and love the look and feel of cast iron but keep hearing I'm an idiot for not doing acrylic. Thoughts?
o do I love a cast iron clawfoot tub . . .
