My Fiance just called me...he's over at MOMA. Apparently many of the visitors are *struggling* with the pre-fab house displays. Someone supposedly walked through one of the large glass windows and that house has been shut down for now while they figure out how to repair it. Another house they have taken to putting large pieces of tape in an "X" configuration so people don't walk thru...
wow, I planned to visit this coming weekend. Thanks for the alert.
On a separate note. I've been debating b/w a Poliform dresser vs. Boconcept dresser. The Poliform is twice as expensive. But I'll pay for the quality if it's worth it. Does anybody have experience with poliform? Is it worth it? Is BoConcept that bad? Thanks for your opinion.

hey, i'm looking for a stainless steel prep table ala restaurant shops on the bowery, however i cannot find ANYTHING smaller than 24" deep. do they not sell prep tables at, like, 18" deep? lengthwise isn't the issue, but depth is killing me!

oh, and to add to my previous post...i'm not looking at $800 varieties, rather the cheapie varieties under $200...so custom is out of the question. :)

KDkaboom - Check Sam's Club online and Costco. I got a great one a few years ago from one of them (can't remember which...) that was shallow depth-wise.
thanks, upstate!!! i looked at costco's site and they have 18" and 20" deep tables (woohoo!) but they are very very long (d'oh!). i will save the link, though...it could work!
thanks again :)

Does anyone in the city know where the best flea markets are to find a nice chair to accompany a really nice mission-style desk I've just bought? I don't mind a chair on casters as long as there is no plastic involved. But a simple wooden chair with no arms would be fine too. I just want something that will be comfortable enough to survive through the next few months while I study for the LSAT!!
Are there any weekend flea markets on the UWS?

dlk,
Do you need to wax your floor?
If not, try "Hardwood floor REVIVER" from Minwax.
I went their website, chose RIVIVER (high gloss) among all the different types of their wood floor caring products (because of it's easy easy application.)
I am quite happy with the result.
If you don't like your result, then you can spend money to hire somebody.

kdkaboom,
If you have a prep table you like, you can have it custom covered with stainless steel sheet.
I know a couple of shops do it (one is in a Chelsea Market?) with relatively inexpensive cost.
