Perhaps this has already been covered here, but just wanted to pass on a great link...we are planning to do a small update of our kitchen (adding a dishwasher and changing the sink & base cabinets). I discovered that Ikea has a great planning tool that you can download for free and mock up your space using their cabinets. The program will provide you with a 3-D drawing, and the best part--it will give you a price list of all the elements, so you have an instant total of what your project will cost. The software also enables you to design an office space or a bedroom using Ikea products. http://www.ikea.com/ms/en_US/rooms_ideas/splashplanners.html

This month's Domino had this question, but I thought the answer was really lame. What works with natural woodwork? It's really hard to find any good photos out there of rooms that have unpainted trim or colored walls, and I plan on having both. Most magazines and even this site have some version of painted trim and white walls. Any idea where I can find photos of rooms with stained wood and color?

The writer has a craftsman and documents the decorating and renovations she does to her home. She has resisted the urge to paint most of the trim in her home and i think it looks...well...lovely

Maxwell... I'm wondering if maybe you'll address the issue of the "we." Maybe you have in the past and I missed it, but I'm really curious.
Some of the ads this week are making all the page loads take forever.
I also hate the "we." Who said that's cute? How is it authentic? It's peculiar. I commented recently on a beautiful use of the "I". The individual's experience is handicapped, subdued, and suffocated in this silly affectation. Set it free, Maxwell!

its a site where you can view and share uploaded magazines (the entire mag- not just snipets!). I just learned about it today from my sister. there's a good selection of home/design magazines. I have tried to cut down on the amount of magazine waste i accumulate by only purchasing the ones I HAVE to have, so now this is a good way to view the others, as well as the pricey international magazines.
the new domino, elle decor, dwell, canadian house & home, real simple are on there just to name a few!
you can also join (its free) and bookmark articles- I haven't gone through everything on the site yet, but just thought this would be a good tip for AT'ers trying to cut down on paper waste.
i'll be online reading all day! lol.
