Marcel Breuer's F41 Lounge on Wheels

4-6-breuerf41.jpg

Mobile Bauhaus. Marcel Breuer, the Hungarian architect/designer who invented(?) tubular steel, is responsible for many design classics and the F41, licensed by Tecta might be our favorite...

We love the combination of the natural hand-woven caning (cording and leather options were mentioned on the Tecta site) and industrial nickel-plated wheels. The fifth wheel is connected to the others with a bicycle chain, allowing the relaxer to propel the lounge without moving to an upright position!

This reminds me of pictures I've seen in history books of the sanatorium patients laying out on the beach or lawn in these rolly old chairs!
