Hot or Not? : Aaah! Toilet Paper Foam

We found this as well at the Home & Housewares show in Chicago (this is not a joke):

"What is clean? Clean is how you feel after an evening bath, a morning shave, a new haircut. Clean is soothing--it's feeling completely fresh.

Finally ... an alternative to dry toilet paper, wet wipes or wetting with water. Toilet Paper Foaming Cleanser is a quick, easy to use, and economical way to feel completely clean. Infused with aloe vera and moisturizers, it cleans thoroughly without alcohol and irritation. Fragrance-free, rinse-free and convenient."

I do the same thing with hand soap, if I've run out of my moist wipes.

I remember reading a while back that Will Smith says that he only uses moist wipes in the bathroom. It was his "secret pleasure" or some nonsense. I also remember watching American Inventor and some guy came on with this same idea and was voted off. Sadly... I would have to say his invention was better then this. At least it his was automatic and integrated with the tissue dispenser.

I was really nervous she was going to wipe that someplace else other than her arm.

I think that's just odd and I wonder what chemicals or chemical processes are involved in making this product. I can't imagine it being better for the environment then toilet paper.

Huh. I have completely mixed feelings about the whole thing. I especially didn't like her, though I don't know why.

The moist wipes may say they are flushable, but our building had a huge sewage backup caused by them (we have 5 new babies in the building, which may have contributed).

I agree with Mid-C. why not just use a bidet? Better than chemicals any day.

What is with Americans and their obsession with sanitizers. No chemical and crap that will mess up my body's ph are not coming near me. Don't want toilet paper sticking to you? use a bidet. As for moist wipes they are not biodegradable and not designed for city waste systems or septic systems. They are just more landfill and waste.

Okay, I just checked out the website, and you actually put that ON a piece of toilet paper. So you're still using paper, but you're adding chemicals to it. Sounds like a double waste to me.

Why does she call it "all-natural"? Things that foam like that are probably not, but I can be proven wrong.

That said, language is strange: "you shower with shampoo... but what if you use the bathroom" - as if I would shower anywhere else than the bathroom :)

I'm with the bidet crew, or even a Japanese toilet with washing facility. Its so odd that more bathrooms don't have them.

Really, I can't believe people are against this. A bidet would definitely be an upgrade, but they're excessively uncommon in the US and very unpractical if you have a small bathroom.

And last time I checked, anuses don't have a pH balance that needs to be maintained. I wouldn't use this foam anywhere near my vulva, but as for getting fecal matter off of my behind, I'm all for it.

I'm a super-neat freak when it comes to bathroom stuff & always use the moist wipes. I don't want bacteria speading on anything! That is just gross to me.

Just because the product foams does not indicate it is made with synthetic ingredients. Foam in a product like this is usually created with the type of hand pump they use.

And as jick pointed out, it may be the pumping action which causes the foam. My sister always buys natural biodegradable bathroom products, and she gets a kind of hand soap that comes in a bottle with a pump that makes it all foamy.

I fail to see how this is gross. It doesn't spread germs around, it helps clean them off. It's always strange to me how resistant people are to new hygienic practices.

I know it sounds ridiculous BUT when you think about it, it's greener than using wetwipes and there's plenty of folks who need a little extra-sensitive help down in the kaboose. I used to use wetwipes and switched to witchhazel tonic to use with toilet paper to cut down on paper consumption.

Agree with the bidet comments. At home, I often use my hand-held shower attachment rather than TP. I feel cleaner.

it never occurred to me that people would become so concerned with the best way to wipe your bum....
but hey, it if floats your boat I think this product idea seems less wasteful than using wipes.

Give me a Toto Japanese-style toilet over this thing any day. This is just bizarre.

I guess, if the idea appeals to you, any kind of foam soap would work as well...

Let me reword that... I like the product. I think using plain old tp and nothing else is gross.

And, a fan of the bidet and japanese toilet.

I love the idea of this product. She had me sold, when she mentioned that it didn't make you feel sticky the way a wipe would.

SO many people on AT are too fast to "pooh pooh" (pun intended) a product before analyzing it's possible positive use by saying it's bad for the environment without even knowing anything about it. jeez! This is clearly better than using wasteful wipes. If you want to walk around with a dirty @$$ - good for you!
I say, let me read the ingredients, read user reviews and forget how the girl in the informercial makes me feel then I can form an opinion.

The comments about "chemicals" are woefully ignorant and misinformed. "Natural" materials are often no better than synthetic chemicals. The chemical process to make this product is no more environmentally unfriendly than the process to create your shampoo. Tsk tsk. What do they teach kids in school these days?

Why does she have to walk around so much? To demonstrate how "free" she feels? Unless she wants me to imagine her moisturized parts sliding together, she needs to keep her feet planted.

I actually bought this product after seeing it on Discovery Health, and I love it! It IS natural and organic, so you are not adding chemicals to your tp, unlike wet wipes. It is better on the enviroment as you aren't using as much tp or the wet wipes, and its natural formula is not harmful to the enviroment. It doesn't clog my toilet or septic tank either. Finally, I love it because it cost less than the wet wipes. I figured out I would have to buy 7 boxes of wipes to equal one bottle of the foam! I can't wait until I can buy it in the store!
