I've also seen people arrange object in threes. I like that better.

I hate pairs. I always do them in odd numbers. Threes & fives look best to me.

I should take that back. I do like chairs in pairs from time to time. But if it's decorative objects....odd numbers, always.

I don't know if it is me or you, but the slide show is slllloooowwww.

I needid this post to discover that I don't have anything on displat in pairs in my appartment...
No reason though, guess I just never found the right pair !

some things just come in pairs, like the chess pieces. it would be weird to have a second king or even a pawn. Then there are the secret 3s...like the Guardian lions. the mother one usually has a cub under her paw.

Thanks for the great comments; I am Barb (and deal in artifacts and art) and wanted to say I am a HUGE believer in decorating with odd numbers, too, and use them often.
