We just got word that there is a new shop in town, called Maiden Brooklyn, and it features the scrappy, Brooklynesque design sensibility and sparseness the borough thrives upon.
Opened by Radek Szczesny a few weeks ago, it is dedicated to "handmade fashion and design from emerging, mostly New York artists."
There are a few workshops in back where some of the items are made and the whiff of "collective" is in the air.
Maiden Brooklyn has an odd assortment of furniture and accessories. We liked the coffee table "turntable" by Radek himself and LOL when we read that Miss Teen Buffalo's pillows are crafted out of her ex-boyfriend's shirts and sweaters. We could use more reviews on this one, so if you visit email directly. MGR
