kleenex boxes are ugly no matter what is printed on them. keep them in a drawer.

I'd prefer easy-to-find 100% post-consumer recycled kleenex. Or vintage handkerchiefs, per Manders22's suggestion.

How about a Kleenex box that's weighted at the bottom so you don't need two hands to get a tissue out when it gets low? Fix THAT, Kleenex wizards.

handkerchiefs????? so disgusting. I'd rather use up a tree than have to carry pounds of mucous in my pocket. I use every single inch of disposable tissues before I throw them away. I couldn't imagine carrying around a sopping rag full of germs. gross gross gross. If they could make this a non trashable box that you use their ugly boxes as inserts, then myabe it'd be worth something.

I've lately taken to carrying a handkerchief in my coat pocket because I'm tired of having wads of linty, crumpled tissues in there, but honestly I feel kind of guilty blowing my nose on handmade hem-stitched linen created by my great-grandmother. It's almost enough to drive me back to paper, but I love how retro a handkerchief is.

I suppose they're better for the environment (or are they? I have to wash them & iron them, after all..) but like most things i do that could be passed off as "green" it's really more an attempt to respect my frugal and practical upbringing. If that happens to cause less damage to the environment, and it usually does, all well and good. But I'd be a total hypocrite if I claimed that was my primary motivation.

Thanks, happify, for the idea of vintage hankies - I suspect it won't trouble me nearly as much to use someone else's Great-grammie's handiwork when my nose is running.

Oh go on, your grandmother would probably be very happy to know you are using them! They did use them back then!

joyunspeakable - I would presume it has to be more 'green' because I would presume you aren't washing each handkercheif by itself but tossing it in with other laundry so it isn't using up much water of its own and ironing it takes a second where as creating tissues takes lots of wood, electricity and water to manufacture not counting the packaging and shipping.

This is an interesting idea. Can you refill the custom box?

this is so silly... but i can understand that if you are head of marketing for a brand like Kleenex, hey there's only so much you can do to keep it interesting.

The first words I saw on the site say "Let Out Your Creative Juices." Eewww. That's what I need the tissues for!

Well, I was going to make fun of these, but for $5 a box, I think...

...my friend Bill is going to discover one in his bathroom with BOOGERs written in huge letters.

...when my 6 year old niece visits next month, there'll be one with a picture of her favorite stuffed animal on it. Gotta keep things magical for the 6 year old.

...the guy who never shows up at work is getting the missing person milk carton treatment on a box for his office.

...our proofreader's will have Kleenex misspelled. Otherwise, it will look like a normal box.

What silly stuff can you come up with?

It's better for your nose and upper lip to use a cloth hankerchief, especially when you have a cold or flu and have to blow all of the time.

Tissues are paper. Paper is wood fiber.

I'm thinking, why pay for it? Just put together a simple template in Excel or your favorite paint program, print it out, and tape or glue it onto the box. Easy peasy!

When they let you design the paper itself, THAT's when I'll be impressed.
