so I love these, love them every time you post about them, but what happens when everything gets all leggy and overgrown?

Squidlette -
Exactly! I think the same thing - and was just discussing this with someone today. I love how they look, but am amazed at what a commitment they are if you try to either make one or keep one alive. But despite that I still would like to have one and would look forward to dividing the wreath up and also taking clippings and attempting to start the process over again.
Also, if you follow the Martha Links above you will see that you can make a wreath out of ferns, moss, dwarf conifers, and other plants just as easily as with succulents. I would love to try the fern wreath and then divide them up for the garden in spring.
One other tip: beware when ordering online. Target and Crate & Barrel (and others) have very convincing faux wreaths and/or plants. The wording is subtle and I have known people who ordered them only to get a surprise when they arrived. For wreaths, Vivaterra.com and Livingwreath.com are two places you are sure to get the real deal.
