PlantTherapy: Overwintering Outdoor Plants

New Guinea impatiens on Park Ave.

This may be your last week to grab a stem off the tender outdoor annuals before the cold has its way with them. New Guinea impatiens are one of my favorites, but they are not the only ones...

Coleus, sweet potato vines, begonias and many others can either be dug up or clippings can be taken and grown indoors, then planted outdoors the following spring.

Organic Gardening Magazine has a nice article that goes through how to make the transition from outdor to indoor for plants and stem clippings.
