Though we don't know much about it, we're captivated by the images of Arik Levy's new Fluid System of modular shelving. Designed for Desalto, the entire system is made up of a singular component that is stackable and with the addition of a flat surface and/or cushion can function as a side table and stool...















Notice how in all the photographs, the shelving units are set in an empty space? And that they're more or less empty? These would look very different set against a wall filled with stuff.
These shelves would be great as decoration, but their aesthetic would be ruined if you actually wanted them to fulfill their functional purpose.
